Puppy Pre-School

We have been running our own very successful Puppy Pre-School since 2002. During that time hundreds of puppies have graduated and gone on to be good pets and canine citizens.

The 4-week course involves a one hour class per week in our all-weather classroom at our Rappaw Veterinary Care Plimmerton clinic, 18 Ulric Street, Plimmerton.

The course is managed and run by our qualified practice vet nurses with the help of the practice vets. Our nurses attend special courses on dog behaviour to assist them with teaching the Puppy Pre-School classes.

The aim of the Puppy Pre-School classes:

  1. To socialise your puppy
  2. To provide basic puppy training instruction
  3. To provide client education

Before your puppy can attend they must;

  1. Be at least 6 weeks of age and no older than 12 weeks of age (unless consented by the vet nurse instructor)
  2. Have had at least their first DHP (Distemper/Hepatitis/Parvo) vaccination at least 1 week prior to their first class attendance.
  3. Not have been sick in the week prior to the class, unless seen by a veterinarian and cleared for attendance.
  4. Be enrolled in a class and contacted by the vet nurse in charge of the puppy pre-school classes to confirm their attendance.
  5. Paid the course fee in full.

On the evening of the class please give an early small dinner so they work harder for the treats, be on time and please always bring them along on a lead.
